
Jennifer Chamberlin announces candidacy for Bremerton City Council – District 1
Kitsap County, Washington – Jennifer Chamberlin is announcing her run for Bremerton City Council in district 1 which includes neighborhoods near Lions Park and neighborhoods near the intersection of Sylvan Way and Pine Road. Among Chamberlin’s top goals is supporting efforts for economic recovery of residents and small businesses hardest hit from the impacts of the COVID-19 recession in Bremerton. She is also passionate about creating a safer, inclusive environment in Bremerton, especially for marginalized and/or disenfranchised individuals.
Chamberlin has lived in Bremerton for over 20 years. She transferred to Kitsap County as a Navy dependent in 1993 when she was in middle school. Chamberlin briefly moved to Chattanooga, TN in 1996 where she received her GED. She returned to Kitsap in 1997 settling in Bremerton. Since then, Chamberlin has received her AAS from Olympic College and her BA from The Evergreen State College. She is due to receive her Master’s of Public Administration degree in Spring 2021 from The Evergreen State College.
Chamberlin has been a Bremerton School District employee for over ten years. In addition to her experience in education she also has experience with federal grant compliance, public service with non-profits organizations, working for and running small businesses, research, data analysis, and grassroots organizing. Chamberlin is serving her 5th year on the City of Bremerton Arts Commission, was a 2019 Civil Survival Fellow, and a Public School Employees of Washington 2017 Legislative Intern. She raised two sons, now 17 and 20 in Bremerton as a single mother.
